2A - Bug List


  1. Lack of knowledge when it comes to fast fashion. 
    1. Fast fashion is a problem for a number of reasons but we don't hear much about it. 
  2. Not enough secure ways to purchase used clothes online.
    1. Things like eBay aren't always legit. 
  3. A better way to go thrift shopping digitally. 
    1. Some sites exist for this but again it's not always the best. 
  4. Not knowing where items were made or how ethically.
    1. While most items say what country they were made in you don't know by who or how ethically they were made. 
  5. A cat leash training system. 
    1. My cat just will not walk on a leash even though he loves being outside. Something like this would help. 
  6. More options for biodegradable goods at public restaurants. 
    1. Instead of always having to bring your own they should be supplied. 
  7. More eco-friendly public spaces.
    1. Sustainable parks are hard to come by. 
  8. Better education on how to be eco-friendly. 
    1. Unless you seek it out it's hard to come by. 
  9. A better way to carry lip balm around.
    1. Something other than carrying it a pocket or bag. 
  10. The library isn't open. 
    1. Because of corona. 
  11. Going to school normally is no longer an option :(.
    1. Because of corona. 
  12. I can't go to the rock climbing gym anymore. 
    1. Because of corona. 
  13. Not being able to see my friends. 
    1. Because of corona. 
  14. My cat won't walk on a leash. 
    1. He simply refuses because he is old and grumpy. 
  15. The line at Chick-Fil-A has gotten so long they've had to expand their drive-through. 
    1. Because of the virus, all service has been made drive-through. 
  16. More ways to digitally interact with friends for things like movie nights. 
    1. We need digital movies more than ever. 
  17. Not being able to go to the movie theater. 
    1. Because of corona. 
  18. Not being able to travel. 
    1. Because of corona. 
  19. A better way to have digital game nights.
    1. We need more ways to interact with our friends without contact. 
  20. More ways to pass time indoors. 
    1. Corona is stupid. 
It was hard to come up with a lot of these. But thanks to COVID-19 there are now more things than ever that bug me!

    I really enjoyed reading your bug list because I too feel corona has impacted many of the problems we are currently facing at home. I also really liked your point about more public spaces that are eco-friendly. I find that in my town there are very few places to meet up besides restaurants and I am realizing that as everything closed down for corona.

26A - Celebrating Failure

Earlier this semester I was taking a paleontology course to meet a science credit. I started the course while I was at home with my parents and brought my textbook with me. When I came back up to Gainesville I realized that I had forgotten my book at home with my parents. I needed it for the open-note exam later that week and I didn't know what I was going to do. Fortunately, my dad drove two and a half hours to come to bring it to me, but I still felt awful about having left it in the first place. What I learned was to be more mindful and make sure that I am doing everything to the best of my abilities, especially packing. Failure is definitely a hard thing to deal with. We feel ashamed and sad when we fail because we feel like we let others down. But failure is also an opportunity to grow and learn from our mistakes. Without failing every now and then, we would never learn. This class has taught me that failure is an opportunity, not an obstacle.

18A - Create a Customer Avatar

My prototypical customer is a hippie in my mind. While being sustainable and ethical is easy for anyone to do, I see hippies being our main customers. This is because they're more likely to be the type to adopt a zero-waste lifestyle. Because of this lifestyle change, I see them as people that would use the app often. In my mind, they drive an electric car or an old used one. All of their clothes are thrifted and they shop for groceries at stores like Whole Foods.
